Recognizing the declining availability of the Benedictine Sisters at St. Scholastica Monastery to oversee their sponsored ministries, the Sisters began exploring options to ensure their ministries would continue to grow and thrive.

A petition to the Vatican for a change in sponsorship to a ministerial public juridic person (MPJP) was approved in December 2022. Duluth Benedictine Ministries officially began operations on July 1, 2023.

This first strategic plan for Duluth Benedictine Ministries outlines three priorities to guide the organization’s operations over the next three years, with a clear focus on fulfilling our mission and vision.
